Jose Garza

Superintendent

With nearly 30 years of construction experience and a decade of growth at PrimeCo, Jose Garza brings extensive field knowledge, leadership, and a genuine passion for supporting the people around him to his role as Superintendent. Jose joined PrimeCo on September 25, 2016, as a carpenter worker and steadily worked his way through the company, becoming a carpenter, painter, and foreman before earning the opportunity to step into his current Superintendent role in February 2019. As Superintendent, Jose supports PrimeCo's foremen and field teams by making sure they have the information, resources, and direction needed to successfully execute each project. He oversees quality control and safety, coordinates trades to prevent scheduling conflicts, and helps ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget while meeting client expectations. With experience across carpentry, siding, window and sliding door replacement, painting, waterproofing, and stucco, Jose brings a well-rounded understanding of the many moving parts required to complete a successful reconstruction project. Jose's career in construction began in 1996 when a friend invited him to take a construction job during the winter so they could earn some extra money for holiday presents. What began as a temporary opportunity turned into a career spanning three decades. His years completing side jobs and piecework in new construction also gave him valuable experience working directly with clients, understanding their needs, staying organized, and recognizing the importance of planning ahead to anticipate potential challenges. One of the most rewarding parts of Jose's role today is helping PrimeCo's field employees develop their skills. He enjoys teaching and training team members, supporting foremen, and seeing the results of their work at the end of a project. Jose believes strongly in treating field employees with respect and giving them the support they need to succeed. When he first joined PrimeCo, he saw opportunities to help crews improve quality and knew his experience could make a difference. For Jose, one of the best moments on any project comes when a client sees the finished result. Watching their excitement and hearing a client say they are happy they chose PrimeCo is something he describes as priceless. He is also proud of his own journey within the company—from starting in the field to becoming a Superintendent and helping lead the teams he once worked alongside. Having worked for several construction companies throughout his career, Jose believes what sets PrimeCo apart is simple: the company cares. That commitment to its clients, employees, and quality of work is something he has experienced firsthand throughout his years with the company. Originally from Mexico, Jose moved to Southern California when he was seven years old and has called San Pedro home ever since. Outside of work, he is a big baseball fan and enjoys heading to the desert and sand dunes with his family to ride his Polaris RZR. Jose has been happily married for 27 years and is the proud father of four boys, including twins. The family also has a Korean Jindo named Gizmo. One fact that still surprises many people who meet Jose is that he has been working in construction for nearly 30 years—a career built on experience, hard work, respect for the people around him, and a commitment to continually making a difference.
