Project Engineer

Sterling Brown serves as a Project Engineer at PrimeCo, supporting the company's Project Managers with day-to-day operations while helping keep projects organized and on track. He also manages project information across PrimeCo's internal and client-facing platforms, helping maintain clear communication between the office, field teams, and clients throughout each stage of a project. Sterling joined PrimeCo a year ago and began his career in the construction industry with the company. While his previous roles were outside of construction, they helped him develop the work ethic, communication skills, and adaptability that he brings to his position today. Since joining the team, he has gained hands-on experience supporting HOA and condominium projects while continuing to expand his knowledge of construction and production operations. One of Sterling's favorite parts of his role is finding ways to make other people's jobs easier. He enjoys being part of the operational backbone of PrimeCo and is always looking for opportunities to make processes more efficient. His attention to detail, creativity, positive energy, and ability to approach problems from a different perspective have become valuable assets to the team. Technology is an area where Sterling has made a particularly strong impact. With a strong understanding of AI and an interest in finding better ways to work, he helped create PrimeCo's Foreman and client-facing websites and has encouraged the company to explore new AI tools that can improve everyday workflows. He takes pride in identifying inefficiencies and developing practical solutions that help the team communicate and operate more effectively. For Sterling, PrimeCo's culture is one of the things that makes the company special. He appreciates how closely the team works together and the strong relationships between employees. He also values PrimeCo's commitment to doing things correctly from the beginning, anticipating potential challenges before they become problems, and maintaining consistent communication between the office, foremen, and clients throughout every project. A Southern California native, Sterling grew up in Escondido before living in Oceanside and San Marcos, and today calls Oceanside home. Outside of work, he stays busy with an extensive list of interests, including working out, golfing, boating and wakesurfing, snowboarding, camping, off-roading, dirt biking, hiking, pickleball, traveling, going to the beach, and attending concerts and sporting events. He's also a big music fan, with a playlist that can range from reggae and country to rock, rap, and EDM. Sterling enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and friends, making people laugh, catching sunsets, and getting outdoors whenever possible. Currently living within walking distance of the beach, he hopes to eventually add surfing to his list of hobbies. Whether he's improving a process at PrimeCo or planning his next outdoor adventure, Sterling brings an energetic, creative, and forward-thinking approach to what he does.
